Who are we?
Data for Implementation (Data.FI) is a global project that helps countries strengthen routine health information systems to optimize efficiencies in the health sector, track and rapidly respond to the HIV epidemic and emerging health threats, and improve client care through locally led, integrated, and flexible digital health solutions, data analytics, and institutionalized data use practices.
To do this, we leverage expertise in program implementation, measurement, digital health, data science, and data use to help the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and partners ask better questions, look at unsolved problems in new ways, and pivot programming faster.
We work with local partners in more than 20 countries and provide end-to-end solutions in the data ecosystem that serve public health goals and protect clients’ rights. We build sustainable and scalable government-owned systems that support robust data analysis, rapid insight for decision making, and continuity of client care. And we create tools, policies, and procedures with the stakeholders who configure community, facility, laboratory, and pharmacy information systems.
Together, we are working to help address the challenges that impede countries from meeting their health goals.
What is this newsletter?
This newsletter’s purpose is to share exciting technological developments and other digital health lessons from the countries where we work. By exploring both the challenges and breakthroughs experienced in these collaborations, we hope you’ll learn more about what works, what doesn’t, and where the global health sector is headed next.
Our articles will also share important stories about the people driving change in the digital health space—from women building software to improve the performance of programs serving orphans in Nigeria to efforts by community organizers facilitating the digitization of vaccine records in Honduras.
If you are a global health professional, a student interested in digital transformation, or simply passionate about the intersection of technology, data, and health care, this is the place for you!
